BMW India recently launched the i5 electric vehicle in India. The i5, the first-ever electric 5 Series counterpart, is making its Indian debut as the i5 M60 xDrive, a variant from BMW M Performance. The BMW i5 M60 xDrive is available in a single trim and costs Rs 1.20 crore (ex-showroom) in India.
BMW i5 M60 xDrive EV Features
The BMW i5’s external body is quite similar to the standard 5 Series. However, being an EV and specifically the M Performance model, the i5 M60 has a more sporty appearance than the normal i5/5 Series. The kidney grille part is still present, but it features a glossy-black blanked-off screen surrounded by LED illumination.
With a 14.9-inch infotainment display and a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, the i5 is equipped with the latest interior design from BMW. The simple design has been inspired by the 7 Series/i7. The inside of the vehicle has several M-specific elements, such as the black roof lining, M-specific displays, M-steering wheel, sports seats and carbon fibre dashboard trim. A 360-degree camera, a panoramic sunroof, 4-zone climate control, ventilated seats and electrically adjustable seats are among the features.
With its 83.9kWh battery pack, the BMW i5 M60 car can travel 516 kilometers on a single charge, according to WLTP. The vehicle has two electric motors that create a total of 601bhp and 795Nm of torque. BMW states that the i5 M60 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds, with a maximum speed of 230 km/h.
