BMW Motorrad India recently announced that bookings for the BMW F 900 GS and the BMW F 900 GS Adventure motorcycles are now being accepted in India. In the lineup, the new bikes are positioned below the F 850 GS and F 850 GS Adventure. The motorbikes will be introduced to the Indian market shortly.
BMW F 900 GS, F 900 GS Adventure features
An 895 cc parallel-twin engine powers the F 900 GS and F 900 GS Adventure. The engine can produce up to 103 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 93 Nm of maximum torque at 6,750 rpm. There is a 6-speed gearbox on duty. In contrast, the peak torque output of the current F 800 GS is 91 Nm at 6,750 rpm and 85 bhp at 6,750 rpm.
There has been a 14 kg weight reduction in the F 900 GS. Rain and Road are the two basic riding modes available on the most recent GS models. They also have Dynamic Traction Control, cornering-optimized ABS Pro and a dynamic brake light. BMW has an optional “riding modes Pro” function, which allows the rider to change engine drag, torque and Dynamic Brake Control (DBC).
The BMW F 900 GS now comes with a new, lighter fuel tank made of plastic. The motorbike sports a new aluminum stand and brake lever and the weight of the swingarm has also been reduced. BMW has also included heated grips and knuckle guards in the design. Interestingly, the F 900 GS and F 900 GS Adventure versions now include fully adjustable Showa upside-down forks up front.
