Bentley is set to launch its first electric vehicle (EV) by 2026, marking a significant step in the luxury automaker’s transition to electric mobility. The new urban SUV will be one of 10 EV and plug-in hybrid models Bentley plans to release over the next decade.
This innovative SUV will be the world’s first “true luxury urban SUV,” as described by Bentley, and aims to create an entirely new market segment. Designed, developed, and produced at Bentley’s Crewe factory, the vehicle will be built on the Volkswagen Group’s PPE platform, co-developed by Audi and Porsche. This suggests the model will feature performance and size akin to the Audi Q6 e-tron and Porsche Macan Electric, but Bentley’s Frank-Steffen Walliser emphasized that the SUV will offer a distinctly unique luxury experience, setting it apart from its counterparts.
Bentley’s electric revolution begins in 2026, and this new model will be a pivotal part of the company’s commitment to a sustainable future in luxury vehicles.
