Bentley recently unveiled the first official teaser for its new-generation Flying Spur sedan, which is expected to launch in August of this year. The first teaser showcases the new face, with the design being more of a modification of the existing model.
While the lower part is the same as the new Continental GT, the round headlight gets new details. The new Flying Spur will have an all-new hybrid powertrain in place of the W12 engine.
The new Bentley Flying Spur will replace the W12 engine with a more powerful and environmentally friendly Ultra Performance Hybrid engine. This is the same engine that made its debut in the new Continental GT, with a maximum torque of 1,000 Nm and 771 bhp. That is 100 Nm and a whopping 147 bhp more than the current Flying Spur. The Luxobarge has a 72 km electric-only range due to its single electric motor and 4.0-liter twin-turbo engine.
The new Flying Spur, according to Bentley, will be “the” grand tourer with a remarkable range of over 800 kilometres and emissions as low as 40 gm per kilogram. Expect the majority of the features on the new Flying Spur, aside from the engine, to be shared with the Continental GT.
