Bajaj has just introduced the new Chetak 35 Series electric scooter in India, with prices starting from Rs 1.20 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). The series consists of three variants: 3501, 3502, and 3503, with prices for the 3501 at Rs 1.27 lakh and 3502 at Rs 1.20 lakh. The 3503’s pricing is yet to be announced.

Enhanced Features and Performance

The Chetak 35 Series is powered by a larger 3.5 kWh battery, up from the previous 3.2 kWh unit, offering a claimed range of up to 153 km on a full charge, compared to 137 km previously. The redesigned frame features a longer wheelbase, repositioning the battery under the floor, freeing up 35 litres of under-seat storage (previously 21 litres). The new electric motor and controller improve powertrain efficiency, ensuring a smoother and more reliable ride.

Updated Tech and Comfort

The 3501 variant comes with an advanced TFT touchscreen display that integrates infotainment and instrument cluster functions, including navigation, call controls, and music management. Smartphone connectivity features such as remote immobilization, overspeed alert, and accident detection are also included, with some available through an add-on TecPac. The 3502 variant offers a more basic display without the touchscreen and some additional features.

Charging and Variants

Charging the Chetak 3501 is quick, with its 950 W onboard charger capable of charging the battery from 0-80% in about 3 hours. The 3503 variant cuts costs by removing features like disc brakes and integrating the motor controller.
