Bajaj Auto is gearing up to unveil the next-generation Bajaj Chetak on December 20, 2024, following an impressive surge in sales that has propelled the e-scooter into the top three in its segment. Promoted as “The Best Chetak Yet,” the new model promises enhanced performance, practicality, and innovation.
Since its 2020 debut, the Chetak has maintained its iconic design, complemented by feature upgrades earlier this year, including an advanced display, improved connectivity, and better hardware. The upcoming iteration is expected to build on this foundation with further refinements.
One key improvement anticipated is an increase in under-seat storage capacity, addressing a current shortfall of 21 liters, one of the lowest in the segment. This could be achieved by relocating the battery beneath the floorboard, similar to the Ather Rizta and TVS iQube. This strategic redesign may also enable a more efficient battery pack, potentially enhancing range while retaining the current capacity of 123 km to 137 km, depending on the variant.
The new Chetak’s reengineered chassis is expected to boost performance and overall practicality, setting a new benchmark in the e-scooter market.
