One of the top automakers in India, Bajaj Auto, reported a 1% decline in domestic sales to 225,087 units in May 2024 from 228,401 units in May 2023.
In terms of exports, Bajaj Auto had a 3% increase, with 130,236 units shipped to foreign markets in May 2024 compared to 126,747 units exported in the same month the previous year.
Bajaj Auto reported a 1% decline in overall sales for the two-wheeler market in May 2024, with 305,482 units sold compared to 307,696 units in May 2023. In May 2023, domestic sales dropped by 3% to 188,340 units from 194,811 units. On the other hand, exports increased by 4% to 117,142 units.
Compared to 47,452 units sold the previous year, the company’s overall sales of commercial vehicles increased by 5% to 49,841 units.
The company also plans to introduce new CNG bikes to the Indian market as part of its lineup. The bike, which features a new, more environment-friendly powertrain, will be released in June and will be one of the first to use CNG as fuel.
