The third-generation Audi Q5, which has a new platform, an entirely new interior design and a longer list of features, has been finally unveiled. The new Q5 is the first vehicle to be based on Audi’s new Premium Platform Combustion (PPC), which is now available with mild-hybrid technology.
All-new Audi Q5 features
The exterior design is completely new and in keeping with Audi’s newest design language. It has an updated somewhat smaller grille flanked by thinner Matrix LED headlights and an updated front bumper. It has LED headlights and a dual-tone bumper on the back.
The Audi Q5’s interior is based on the India-bound Q6 e-tron, with the Audi MMI panoramic display – the 11.9-inch digital driver’s display and the 14.5-inch touchscreen, with an optional 10.9-inch display for the front passenger.
There are three different engine options for the Audi Q5. The base engine is a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder, turbo-petrol engine with front-wheel drive (AWD) that produces 204 horsepower and 340 Nm. It also comes standard with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel quattro producing 204hp and 400Nm.
The range-topping SQ5 will be equipped with a 3.0-litre V6 turbo-petrol engine producing 367hp and 550Nm. Every engine choice has a 48V mild hybrid system that adds 24 horsepower and 230 Nm and it is coupled with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
