After a long development period, Audi has finally started work on the next generation SUV, the Q7. The first spy photos of the brand-new Q7, which is scheduled for release in 2026, show that the test mule appears to be production-ready.

Motor.es sent Autocar India spy photos, which show that the new Q7 will have a rounded appearance but may be somewhat shorter than the current model. Similar to the Q6 e-tron, the new Q7 also has split headlamps. In contrast to the previous SUV, the grille has shrunk in size and now features rounded edges with triangular parts within, while the airdam has grown in size and now contains sensors for the driver assistance systems.

The roofline tapers slightly more than the present model, and the tailgate is angled. The test mule features narrow taillights and the chrome strip on the tailgate has been replaced with an LED light bar that joins the taillights. Depending on the model, the Q7 will most likely have several external package options, as well as different alloy wheel and front bumper designs.

The new Q7 will be available with both petrol and diesel engines globally, with all of them getting 48V mild-hybrid (MHEV) technology.
