Ather Energy’s family-friendly electric scooter, the Rizta, is set to witness a price hike starting January 1. As reported by Autocar India, the company will increase prices across its three variants by Rs 4,000 to Rs 6,000. While the exact breakup per variant hasn’t been disclosed, here’s a quick overview of the Rizta’s current pricing:

  • Rizta S: Rs 1.10 lakh
  • Rizta Z 2.9: Rs 1.27 lakh
  • Rizta Z 3.7: Rs 1.46 lakh

The Pro Pack—offering premium features—costs Rs 13,000, Rs 15,000 and Rs 20,000 for the respective variants.

The Rizta stands out as Ather’s practical and family-centric alternative to its sporty 450 series. While the two models share core components like the battery, motor, and electronics, the Rizta introduces advanced features such as the Magic Twist regenerative braking system, previously exclusive to the flagship 450 Apex.

This move solidifies Ather’s positioning as a premium EV manufacturer. However, with competitors like Bajaj, TVS, and Hero offering more affordable electric scooters, this price hike could widen the gap further.

For families seeking a balance of innovation and practicality, the Rizta remains a strong contender. However, potential buyers may want to finalize their purchase before the year-end to avoid the increased cost.
