Ather Energy, an Indian electric two-wheeler manufacturer, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Infineon Technologies Asia Pacific Pte Ltd to collaborate on advancing electric vehicle technology in India. The agreement was signed in Seoul, South Korea, and marks a strategic step towards strengthening the country’s electric mobility ecosystem.
The collaboration is centered on the development and integration of semiconductor technologies aimed at supporting light electric vehicles (LEVs), along with improvements in charging infrastructure and vehicle safety systems. Infineon will provide its expertise in microcontrollers, sensors, and other automotive-related semiconductor solutions. These technologies are expected to enhance the efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of electric vehicles.
Ather Energy brings its capabilities in designing and manufacturing LEVs to the partnership, which will work to incorporate advanced sensing and safety mechanisms. The aim is to improve vehicle performance and safety while contributing to a more robust and user-friendly electric mobility experience in India.
The partnership is also expected to address key areas such as energy management and system integration, with a focus on increasing the adoption of electric two-wheelers. By combining Infineon’s semiconductor technologies with Ather’s vehicle design experience, the two companies plan to deliver solutions that are both technically advanced and suited to the needs of the Indian EV market.
