Ashok Leyland reported a strong performance in December 2025, with healthy growth across key segments in both domestic sales and combined domestic-plus-export volumes. The latest sales data reflects steady demand for medium and heavy commercial vehicles as well as light commercial vehicles, supported by infrastructure activity and fleet replacement cycles.
In the domestic market, Ashok Leyland sold 19,855 vehicles in December 2025, compared with 15,713 units in December 2024, marking a year-on-year growth of 26%. Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicle (M&HCV) trucks recorded sales of 11,387 units during the month, up 27% from 8,979 units a year earlier. The M&HCV bus segment saw even stronger momentum, with sales rising 44% year-on-year to 2,166 units. Overall, total M&HCV domestic sales stood at 13,553 units in December, reflecting a 29% increase.
Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs) also contributed to the growth, with domestic sales reaching 6,302 units in December 2025, up 21% from 5,225 units in the same month last year. This broad-based performance helped Ashok Leyland close the month with higher volumes across all major vehicle categories.
On a cumulative basis, domestic sales for the period stood at 1,38,219 vehicles, compared with 1,26,126 units in the corresponding period last year, registering a growth of 10%. Domestic M&HCV volumes rose to 85,698 units from 78,737 units, while cumulative LCV sales increased to 52,521 units from 47,389 units.
Including exports, Ashok Leyland reported total vehicle sales of 21,533 units in December 2025, up 27% from 16,957 units in December 2024. M&HCV trucks accounted for 11,596 units, reflecting a 26% year-on-year increase, while M&HCV bus sales jumped 45% to 3,234 units. Total M&HCV sales, including exports, stood at 14,830 units for the month, up 29% year-on-year. LCV volumes, including exports, rose 22% to 6,703 units.
For the cumulative period, total vehicle sales including exports reached 1,50,979 units, compared with 1,35,921 units last year, reflecting an 11% increase. Cumulative M&HCV volumes rose 12% to 96,165 units, while LCV sales grew 10% to 54,814 units.
