Ashok Leyland, a leading commercial vehicle manufacturer, has released its sales figures for February 2025. The report highlights both domestic and export performance across various vehicle categories. Despite certain declines in specific segments, the overall market presence remains strong.
Domestic Sales Performance
Ashok Leyland’s domestic sales for February 2025 stood at 15,879 units, compared to 16,619 units in February 2024, marking a 4% decrease. The cumulative sales for the fiscal year so far have reached 157,332 units, a 3% decline from 161,513 units in the previous year.
Segment-Wise Domestic Sales Analysis:
- Medium & Heavy Commercial Vehicles (M&HCV) Trucks: Sold 8,368 units in February 2025, a slight 3% drop compared to 8,656 units in February 2024. The cumulative sales declined by 7%, reaching 80,658 units compared to 86,338 units last year.
- M&HCV Bus Segment: Sold 1,742 units in February 2025, reflecting a significant 23% decrease from 2,256 units in February 2024. However, cumulative sales saw an 18% increase, reaching 18,053 units compared to 15,342 units in the previous year.
- Total M&HCV Sales: Recorded 10,110 units for February 2025, showing a 7% decline from 10,912 units in February 2024. The cumulative figures stand at 98,711 units, a 3% drop from 101,680 units last year.
- Light Commercial Vehicles (LCV): Showed resilience with 5,769 units sold in February 2025, a 1% growth compared to 5,707 units in February 2024. The cumulative sales, however, declined by 2%, standing at 58,621 units compared to 59,833 units.
Domestic + Exports Performance
Including exports, Ashok Leyland’s total sales for February 2025 were 17,903 units, reflecting a 2% increase from 17,632 units in February 2024. Cumulatively, the company has sold 171,037 units, a marginal decline of 0% from 171,817 units in the previous year.
Segment-Wise Domestic + Export Sales Analysis:
- M&HCV Trucks: Increased sales by 1%, reaching 8,922 units in February 2025 compared to 8,837 units last year. The cumulative figures, however, show a 5% decline, totaling 83,843 units versus 88,006 units in February 2024.
- M&HCV Bus: Registered 2,564 units in February 2025, reflecting a 5% decrease from 2,700 units last year. However, cumulative sales surged by 18%, reaching 25,150 units from 21,315 units.
- Total M&HCV Sales: Stood at 11,486 units, a stable performance with no major change compared to 11,537 units in February 2024. The cumulative sales are 108,993 units, marginally lower than 109,321 units last year.
- LCV Sales: Registered a 5% growth, with 6,417 units sold in February 2025 compared to 6,095 units last year. The cumulative LCV sales slightly declined by 1%, totaling 62,044 units compared to 62,496 units.
