Hyundai has revealed a new variant of the Ioniq 5 N at N24. It is called Ioniq 5 N TA, and it will compete in America’s renowned Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in Colorado Springs on June 23. Hyundai has produced only two units of the Ioniq 5 N Time Attack.

The power output has been enhanced by 36.5 horsepower via software modification. It currently generates a whopping 680 bhp. Aside from that, the manufacturer has added a N Active Sound+ system to boost driver feedback. It can now create sounds of up to 120 dB.

It comes with 18-inch Yokohama ADVAN 005 slick tyres, motorsport-spec brakes, new shock absorbers and a specifically equipped high-downforce aerodynamic package. A roll cage that meets PPIHC specifications, an EV fire suppression system, a Sabelt six-point Hans safety harness, and a Recaro Pro Racer SPA Hans seat are additional safety features.

The battery pack in use is the same 84 kWh one that the usual Ioniq 5 N claims to have a 448 km range. For the Ioniq 5 N TA, Hyundai uses a two-stage silicon carbide inverter.

The Ioniq 5 N TA stands out by more than just its aerodynamics package. Hyundai has also adopted a brand-new special “N” design livery. Dani Sordo, a Spanish World Rally Championship driver for Hyundai Motorsport, and Robin Shute, a four-time Pikes Peak overall winner and current “King of the Mountain” title holder, would drive the vehicles.
