It is nothing more than a BJP v/s Congress outrage. “The BJP government does not have anything to say in the Parliament, hence they are making an issue of MP Adhir’s statement.

Amritsar Member Parliament statement came ahead of the ‘Rashtrapatni’ remark which made multiple disruptions in Rajya Sabha today. Rajya Sabha adjourned for the third time amid ruckus over Adhir’s ‘Rashtrapatni’ row. Rajya Sabha adjourned till 3 pm.

Congressman, Adhir Ranjan reiterated his stand and said he will meet President Murmu and apologise to her personally. He also said, “I can’t even think of insulting the President. It was just a mistake. If the President felt bad, I will personally meet her & apologise. They can hang me if they want. I am ready to get punished but why is she (Sonia Gandhi) being dragged in this?”
