On Monday, Rao Inderjit Singh took charge as the Minister of State for Corporate Affairs. He has been serving his fifth term as a Parliamentarian.
At present, he is representing the Gurgaon constituency, Haryana in the Lok Sabha. Besides, taking the charge as the Minister of State for Corporate Affairs, he is also Minister of State (Independent Charge) for the Ministry of Statistics and Programme and the Ministry of Planning.
An official release stated that Singh took charge as Ministry of State (Corporate Affairs) on Monday. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman holds the portfolio for the corporate affairs ministry.
According to a press release, Rao Inderjit Singh for over four decades has been quite active in public services. Earlier, he had served as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Jatusana Vidhan Sabha in Haryana. He was also a minister in the Haryana government, the press release added.
As per reports, Singh has completed his graduation and LLB from Delhi University. He is a descendent of Rao Tula Ram, who is the freedom fighter of India’s first war of independence in 1857.
Reports suggest that he has also served as Cabinet Minister for Environment, Minister of State for External Affairs, and Minister of State for Defense Production.
