Rajya Sabha: 3 more MPs suspended as House adjourned till 2 pm

Monsoon session has seen 24 MPs being suspended and now 3 more MPs were suspended for the week by Deputy Chairperson of Rajya Sabha.

Rajya Sabha: Harivansh Narayan Singh, the Deputy Chairperson, of the Rajya Sabha suspended 3 more MPs for the remainder of the week for disrupting the business of the house.

MPs suspended

Rajya Sabha ‘s 2 MPs of the Aam Aadmi Party, Sushil Kumar Gupta and Sandeep Kumar Pathak. Also the independent MP Ajit Kumar Bhuyan were suspended for the remainder of the week.

This comes shortly after AAP Delhi Rajya Sabha MP, Sanjay Singh was suspended for the remaining part of the week over his unruly behaviour in the house.

On Tuesday, 26th July, 19 MPs of the opposition parties including 7 from TMC, 6 from DMK, and the remaining MPs from CPIM, CPI and TRS were suspended on similar grounds.

Moreover, there 4 MPs from Congress have been suspended from the Lok Sabha for the rest of the monsoon session.

This monsoon session has seen several MPs being suspended over “unruly behaviour”. Further, hindering the business of the house by sloganeering and demanding answers. Also, discussion over issues of inflation, falling rupee against the dollar, GST on essential items and hike in fuel and LPG prices.

Several MPs of the opposition have slammed the government on social media. As well as calling the BJP government “dictatorial” and afraid of talking over these issues.

The 20 suspended Rajya Sabha MPs have been on a 50-hour protest near the Gandhi Statute at the parliament. Over the gridlock of the house.

The former Congress President, Rahul Gandhi slammed the government on Twitter for the same, he tweeted. “Why cylinder Rs 1053? Why GST on curd cereals?”. Adding. “Why Mustard Oil Rs 200? The ‘Raja’ arrested 57 MPs and suspended 23 MPs for asking questions about inflation and unemployment. The ‘king’ is afraid of questions in the temple of democracy. But we know how to fight dictators.”
