After the development of symptoms of Lung infection, the Medical condition of Former President Pranab Mukherjee’s declined, the Army’s Research and Referral(R&R) Hospital said in a statement Wednesday.
The 84 years old, who was hospitalized for brain surgery, continues to be in ventilatory support, the statement said. The Former President went for brain surgery on August 10 to remove a blood also tested positive for COVID-19.
After latest medical notification came form the hospital, his son Abhijit Mukherjee on 14th August said that the former President was responding to external stimuli and treatment.
Previous week, Abhijit had confounded the news of his father’s death, he proclaimed that the former President is still alive and haemodynamically stable.
“My father Shri Pranab Mukherjee is still alive and haemodynamically stable!”
“There were speculations and fake news was being circulated by some reputed Journalists on various social media platforms reflecting the nature of today’s media which has become factory of Fake news”, Abhijit wrote on Twitter.
