Nikhil Kamath invites Bengaluru’s changemakers to transform city with Namma Bengaluru Challenge

Nikhil Kamath, co-founder of Zerodha, has made a heartfelt appeal to Bengaluru’s residents, encouraging them to step forward and shape the future of the city that he credits with his success. In a recent LinkedIn post, Kamath expressed his gratitude to Bengaluru and called for changemakers to help address its challenges.

This sentiment forms the foundation of the Namma Bengaluru Challenge, an initiative by WTFund (founded by Kamath) and the UnboxingBLR Foundation, which aims to support innovative solutions to the city’s urban challenges. The challenge will award ₹10 lakh each to five selected startups, entrepreneurs, or community organizations working on sustainable projects with a lasting impact.

Namma Bengaluru Challenge Details:

  • Objective: To find and support practical, impactful solutions that enhance Bengaluru’s quality of life, addressing areas like public safety, urban development, and sustainability.
  • Prize: Five winners will receive ₹10 lakh each.

How to Apply:

  1. Submit your application: Complete the application on the official website, including a project overview and a short video (under 5 minutes) explaining your solution.
  2. Virtual interview: Shortlisted candidates will participate in a virtual interview with the selection panel.
  3. Final selection & kickoff: Winners will be announced and invited to a kickoff event to present their ideas.
