On June 21, the wealthiest man of Asia, Mukesh Ambani said that the world is left with no option except for performing business in a sustainable manner. Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) will be transforming each of its units as it strives to attain net zero-carbon emissions by the year 2035. 

The Chief Executive Officer of RIL stated at the start of the three-day Qatar Economic Forum, “We have no option as a society, as a business, but to really adopt a sustainable business model.” He further added that sustainability is a prerequisite for every business to survive and this means transforming businesses and integrating them with the future, without revealing more details.

He emphasized on bridging the digital divide, both among nations and within nations. The chairman continued, “This is because connectivity and communications have become the basic needs and also fundamental rights of every human being on the planet (just) as basic as food, clothing and shelter.”

The Prime Minister of India had called for Digital India he said that he was privileged enough that their digital services company known as Jio rolled out a 4G network across the length and breadth by the year 2018.

He expressed that he along with his team had wondered what would we have done without a 4G network across the country in facing the COVID-19 crisis.
