Mini Ipe takes charge as Managing Director of LIC

Previously, she worked as LIC’s Executive Director at Legal Department.

According to Moneycontrol, on August 2, Mini Ipe has taken charge as Managing Director (MD) of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) ahead of LIC’s IPO (Initial Public Offering) which is proposed for Q4FY22. Ipe was appointed as the MD through the notification by Government of India dated July 5, 2021.

She is a Commerce post graduate from Andhra Pradesh and had joined LIC in the year 1986 as a Direct Recruit Officer. Ipe will be a part of the team of other MDs including Mukesh Kumar Gupta, Raj Kumar and Siddhartha Mohanty.

As reported by Mint, LIC said in a statement, “She has rich and diverse experience in LIC having worked in various capacities. Prior to taking charge as Managing Director, she was Executive Director, Legal Department, LIC of India.”

It continued saying that Ipe was LIC’s first in-charge woman zonal manager and headed the Hyderabad zone. The company’s South Central Zone consists of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh as well as Karnataka.

Additionally, she has worked as an Executive Director (International Operations), the Director and CEO of LICHFL Financial Services Ltd. along with taking to new heights in business revenue and profits during her tenure.

In the speech of Union Budget 2021, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had announced that the IPO of LIC would launch in FY22.
