Birth

Barack Obama Senior, the president’s father was a scholarship student from Kenya, and his mother, a pupil at the University of Hawaii. He was born on Aug 4, 1961, in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Education

In high school, he earned the title “O’Bomber” for being a skilled basket player.
After he graduated high school, he went to Occidental College, LA, and later transferred to Columbia University. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in political science.
Early Career
He first worked as a market researcher while in Columbia. He moved to Chicago, two years later, and served as a community organizer for three years.

He was then selected into the Harvard Law School where he became the first African American president of Harvard’s Law Reviews.
At law school, he took his mentor, Michelle Obama, on a date to see the movie “Do the Right Thing.” After three years of courtship, the two married on October 3, 1992.
That year he also began his career as a professor at the University of Chicago Law School.
Between 1998 ad 2001, the Obamas welcome their two daughters, Malia and Sasha.
Politics
In July 1995, Obama published his memoir, “Dreams from my father.”
From 1997to 2004, Obama served as the senate of Illinois. During his term, he sponsored a bill that asked the police to videotape interrogation in capital crime cases.

In 2004, Obama presented a speech at the Democratic National Convention. He denounced the impulse to divide the U.S saying, “The experts like to slice and dice our country into Red States and Blue States; Red States for Republicans, Blue States for Democrats. But we worship an awesome God in the Blue States, and we don’t like federal agents poking around our libraries in the Red States. We coach Little League in the Blue States, and, yes, we’ve got some gay friends in the Red States. There are patriots who opposed the war in Iraq and there are patriots who supported the war in Iraq.”
In February 2007, the senator announced his enrollment as a candidate for the presidency at the Old State Capitol in Springfield, Illinois. Obama’s messages won all the primaries.

On Nov 4, 2008, Barack Obama became the 44th president and the first African American president of the United States of America. He was also the third president to serve two terms between 2009 – 2017.
In 2009, he won the Noble Peace Prize for his efforts in strengthening international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples.
During the 2016 presidential election, Obama completely supported Hilary Clinton, his former Secretary of State, running for present and urged her to beat Donald Trump.
Life after presidency
After he left office, the Obamas went on a Polynesian vacation for a month.

In 2017, he was awarded the Profile in Courage Award by the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum.
In May 2018, the Obamas signed a contract with Netflix to produce documentaries, unscripted series, and scripted series.
Currently, he is writing a memoir whose release is scheduled for the 2020 election campaign.
