UAE: Following the death of United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, India has declared one day of national mourning on May 14.
According to a communication issued by the Union Home Ministry to all states. As well as all union territories on May 13, the Government of India has decided to observe one day of state mourning. On May 14 as a mark of respect to the departed dignitary.
The national flag will be flown at half-mast on all buildings. Hence, where it is flown regularly on the day of mourning. And there will be no official entertainment, according to the communication.
Sheikh Khalifa, the president of the United Arab Emirates, died on Friday at the age of 73 after a long illness.
He was the eldest son of the founding President of the UAE, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Moreover, from November 3, 2004, he was the President of the UAE and ruler of Abu Dhabi.
He was elected to succeed his father, the UAE’s first president, who served from 1971 until his death on November 2, 2004.
