Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Kalyan Singh, 89, passed away in Lucknow on Saturday, August 21. The BJP leader and former Rajasthan governor was admitted to Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences in Lucknow on July 4 due to sepsis and multiple organ failure.

According to Hindustan Times, on Friday, the hospital authorities informed that his health status was critical and he was moved on a life-saving support system.

Union Ministers like Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh had paid visited to the veteran leader in the hospital earlier this month. On Friday, UP CM Yogi Adityanath visited the leader.

Recently a resolution was passed by Aligarh’s Mainpuri Zila Panchayat to rename Aligarh airport after the BJP leader.
