Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena-BJP government won the floor test which was scheduled in the two-day special session of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. The trust vote in the Assembly ended with the chants of “Jai Maharashtra”. Moreover, with 164 votes belonging to the newly formed Shinde Government. While on the other hand 99 votes were cast against the new government.

Deputy Chief Minister in his speech thanked the house for putting faith in the new government. “I thank all members who reposed their faith in Shinde govt. I also thank all those who by staying out of House indirectly helped the BJP-Shinde alliance”. Devendra Fadnavis said pointing towards those who had failed to attend the session. But had given their vote for the government by doing so. Mr Fadnavis had also said that CM Eknath Shinde is set to function according to Balasaheb Thackeray’s ideologies.

In the midst of the Legislative Assembly session the newly elected speaker Rahul Narvekar removed Ajay Chaudhary as Shiv Sena party president. And reinstated Eknath Shinde as the legislative party president. The Speaker had issued a letter for the same.
