On Thursday, March 31, the Delhi High Court is set to hear a plea seeking ‘Bharat Ratna’ for industrialist Ratan Tata. This has been a long demand of fans of Tata for his contribution to the nation.
Last year, people have made a pitch demanding Bharat Ratna for him but Ratan Tata requested people to discontinue such campaigns. “While I appreciate the sentiments expressed by a section of the social media in terms of an award, I would humbly like to request that such campaigns be discontinued. Instead, I consider myself fortunate to be an Indian and to try and contribute to India’s growth and prosperity,” wrote Tata on Twitter.
Ratan Naval Tata is a renowned Indian industrialist & philanthropist. He is the great-grandson of Jamsetji Tata. Jamsetji Tata founded the Tata Group of Industries. Ratan Tata served as the chairman of Tata Group from 1990 – 2017. He is an alumnus of the Cornell University College of Architecture & Harvard Business School.
