Deepinder Goyal, founder and CEO of Zomato, has addressed growing speculation and criticism around Temple, a yet-to-be-introduced device, through a candid post on LinkedIn. His message serves as a clear clarification for doctors, influencers, and commentators who have begun questioning the product’s credibility even before its public unveiling.

In his post, Goyal emphasised that no public commercial announcements have been made about Temple so far. He clarified that the company has not released any official benchmarking data, nor has it opened orders or pre-orders for the device. According to him, the project is still in an active development phase, with significant work underway, and the team is still months away from potentially introducing preview devices to the public.

Reacting to online advisories warning consumers against buying an “unvalidated” device, Goyal pointed out the irony in such claims, noting that Temple is not even available for purchase yet. He described this premature skepticism as misplaced, adding a touch of humour by calling it “funny”.

Goyal reassured that all scientific data and validation details will be shared transparently if and when the company decides to commercialise Temple. He encouraged critics to reserve judgment until that stage, stating that evaluations and advice would be far more meaningful once concrete data is available.

The post also carried a broader message for India’s startup ecosystem. Goyal urged professionals and influencers to remain curious rather than dismissive and to support Indian startups during their innovation journeys. While acknowledging that skepticism plays an important role in accountability, he stressed that timing matters, and premature criticism can undermine genuine innovation efforts.
