On Tuesday, Cisco disclosed that it has promoted Daisy Chittilapilly as the tech major’s President of India and SAARC operations.

Chittilapilly replaced Sameer Garde, who recently declared his decision to join the social sector following four years at Cisco. She is likely to step into her new role from August 1.

A statement read that with more than 25 years of experience in the technology industry, coupled with 17 years of leadership experience at Cisco, Daisy Chittilapilly possesses a proven track record of transforming operations and cultures to drive growth at sales.

The statement, as cited by Moneycontrol, further added, “As President of the India and SAARC theatre, she will be responsible for strategy and sales, operations and investment to drive long-term growth in the region.”

Prior to this role, Chittilapilly held the position of Managing Director for Cisco’s Digital Transformation office. There she worked with the customers to capture and scale opportunities evolving in the digital world.

Moreover, being the leader of Software and Services sales, she had worked with partners to drive Cisco’s transition towards software and subscription based offerings.

She also worked for Wipro across various sales management roles before joining Cisco. Beside, she also serves as Co-Chair on the Ficci National Committee for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation. In addition, she is an advisory board member of the non-profit ‘Dragonflies Everywhere’.

Her appointment follows at the time when Cisco sees India and SAARC to be an engine of innovation and growth, Cisco Asia Pacific, Japan and Greater China President Dave West claims.

Dave West stated, “With the business across the region looking to capture the economic rebound, her wealth of experience and knowledge in digitally enabling organization and developing Cisco’s go-to-market strategies around software and services will help propel Cisco, our customers, and partners to forefront of the digital economy.”

Chittilapilly, while responding on her new role, voiced that in today’s digital and cloud first world, Cisco’s leadership across cybersecurity, networking and collaboration put the company at the forefront of supporting business with their digital transformation and unlocking a new era of growth.

She further expressed, “I am excited about the possibility we can shape for India’s people and business.”

Furthermore, she added that she is looking forward to work closely with their customers, partners, communities and the government to bring forth the possibilities to life.
