Cross Fit is a branded fitness regimen created in 2000. Cross Fit, Inc has it registered as a trademark.Greg Glassman and Lauren Jenai are its founders. The CEO, Glassman has officially resigned from Cross fit to support nationwide protests. His response to the racial injustice was quitting his own company that he built out of ashes.
In a statement on Tuesday, Glassman said. He decided to retire after he “created a rift in the Cross Fit community and unintentionally hurt many of its members.” “Those who know me know that my sole issue is the chronic disease epidemic,” Glassman said. “I know that Cross Fit is the solution to this epidemic and that Cross Fit HQ and its staff serve as the stewards of Cross Fit affiliates worldwide. I cannot let my behavior stand in the way of HQ’s or affiliates’ missions.”
Since, Cross Fit has been disappointing many customers. Glassman says to have acted in the interest of others. Firstly, the company maintained silence on the murder of George Floyd. Also, they did not try to support their black athletes like other sport training companies. Secondly, after receiving criticism Glassman took on to twitter. He wrote multiple short tweets talking about changes in society. Not only did he try to cover up his tracks but also tried to spiral controversies. In order to escape the prevailing attention he had drawn by the public eye.
Conclusively, his enthusiasm could have been helpful in the time of action and need. One of his most atrocious messages in fake sympathy was “its Floyd-19.”
