Ajay Kumar becomes new Executive Director of RBI

Kumar has been working in RBI for over 30 years in departments like foreign exchange, banking supervision, financial inclusion, currency management.

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Thursday said in an official statement that it has appointed  Ajay Kumar as Executive Director (ED) with effect from August 20.

Kumar has been working in RBI for over 30 years in departments like foreign exchange, banking supervision, financial inclusion, currency management.

As ED he will look after three departments, the Department of Currency Management, Foreign Exchange Department and Premises Department.

According to the release, Kumar has a Masters in Economics from Patna University, MS in Banking from ICFAI and Certified Bank Manager from Institute of Bank Management and Research, Hyderabad. He has undertaken Executive Management Programme from Kellogg School of Management, Chicago and holds other professional qualifications including Certified Associate of Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (CAIIB).
