On Tuesday, Indian market indexes fell for the third day in a row as a severe sell-off in information technology firms offset gains in financials.
In early trade on Wednesday, Indian equity indexes were higher, powered by increases in banking and pharmaceutical firms.
The BSE Sensex was up 187.46 points, or 0.35 percent, at 54,476.07 at 1 p.m. It had a high of 54,476.23 and a low of 54,021.27 during the day.
The ₹1,501.73 crore public offer saw strong demand from retail investors as the portion reserved for the category reached its near about full subscription.
The BSE Sensex on Tuesday gained 343 pts at 53, 317.50 in opening session as buying was seen across the board. The Nifty rose by 110.55 pts at 15,952.85.
In tumultuous trade, Indian market indices managed to close in the green on Monday, halting a six-day slide. On Friday, the domestic indices recorded their longest weekly losing run since 2020.
The 30-share BSE benchmark was up 650.9 points to 56,319.93. The NSE Nifty increased by 185.65 points to 16,863.25.
The BSE Sensex on, Wednesday dropped 403 pts at 56,572 in opening session as selling was seen across the board. The Nifty declined 133.15 pts at 16,935.95.
The BSE Sensex on Friday, the first day of the new financial year, bounced back 708.18 points, breaching 59K-mark to 59,276.69.
Mumbai: Sensex’s opening was at 192 points high at 57,788.25 and Nifty rose to 66 points at 17,289.
At around 9:24 AM, Spandana Sphoorty Financial was trading at Rs 408.15 per piece up by Rs13.2 or 3.34% on the BSE.
The equity market performed well throughout the trading session as it opened with a rise of 326 points high at 60,070.39.
