This marks the second tri-services briefing following the escalation of hostilities earlier this month. Senior representatives from each force—including the Director General of Military Operations (DGMO), Director General of Naval Operations (DGNO), and Director General of Air Operations (DGAO)—are expected to provide key operational insights, outcomes, and strategic updates.
The development comes hours after a scheduled India-Pakistan DGMO-level hotline conversation, which aims to reinforce the ceasefire understanding reached on Saturday. India has reiterated that all dialogue with Pakistan is confined strictly to military coordination, ruling out any engagement on contentious issues such as Kashmir or the Indus Waters Treaty.
Background: Operation Sindoor and response to Pakistani offensive
During a tense four-day military standoff, Pakistan launched over 300 drones and missiles, targeting 36 Indian locations under its offensive, codenamed Operation Bunyanun Marsoos. In response, India executed precision airstrikes, hitting key terror camps across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, reportedly neutralizing over 100 terrorists.
Earlier, Air Marshal AK Bharti confirmed that all Indian pilots involved in the strikes returned safely, and India’s air defence systems successfully intercepted all aerial intrusions from Pakistan.
Today’s briefing is expected to further elaborate on:
-
India’s operational successes and damage assessments
-
Strategic decisions taken by the tri-services
-
Future military preparedness along the LoC and IB
