The highly anticipated press conference by the Indian Army, J&K Police, and CRPF on the success of Operation Mahadev, originally scheduled for 5:00 PM today in Srinagar, has been postponed. The briefing has been rescheduled to tomorrow morning at around 9:30 AM, due to new developments unfolding in the ongoing operation.

Senior police officials have stated that the operation is still active and efforts are underway to identify the terrorists neutralised during the intense encounter in Srinagar’s Lidwas area near Dara.

“Operation is still continuing. As per the interior reports, three bodies have been observed and seem to be neutralised. It will take us some time for identification, and parties are still inside,” said IGP Kashmir Zone Vidhi Kumar Birdi, speaking to the media.

Earlier in the day, security forces launched a massive anti-terror operation after receiving intel about militant movement in the region. Three terrorists were reportedly killed in the encounter, which began at around 11:00 AM.

As per reports from Hindustan Times, Suleman Shah, believed to be the mastermind behind the recent Pahalgam terror attack, is suspected to be among the terrorists neutralised during the gunfight. However, officials have said that formal identification is still pending.
