Former Jharkhand Chief Minister and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) patriarch Shibu Soren passed away at the age of 81 on Monday after a prolonged illness. He had been undergoing treatment for kidney-related complications at the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in New Delhi for over a month.
Confirming the news on social media platform X, Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren and JMM wrote, “Respected Guru Dishom has left us all. Today, I have become empty…”
Earlier, on June 24, Hemant Soren had informed that his father was undergoing regular treatment at the hospital and that his health was being closely monitored. Shibu Soren had been the face of the JMM for the past 38 years and was widely regarded as the party’s founding patron.
Meanwhile, in another development, Jharkhand Education Minister Ramdas Soren was reportedly airlifted to Apollo Hospital in Delhi after suffering a brain stroke. Further updates on his condition are awaited.
