West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee sustained an injury to her forehead on Wednesday when her car abruptly stopped to avoid a collision with another vehicle, according to a senior official.
Banerjee, who was seated in the front next to the driver, incurred the injury when her head came into contact with the windscreen, the official explained.
The Chief Minister is being transported back to Kolkata, where she will receive medical attention from doctors. The incident occurred during Banerjee’s visit to Purba Bardhaman earlier in the day, where she was conducting an administrative review meeting.
