In his second statement following Operation Sindoor, former US President Donald Trump has taken a neutral stance on the escalating conflict between India and Pakistan, urging both nations to “stop” further retaliation and offering to mediate if necessary.
Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump said,
“It’s so terrible. My position is that I get along with both. I know both very well, and I want to see them work it out. I want to see them stop. And hopefully they can stop now. They’ve gone tit for tat.”
The Republican leader emphasized America’s strong diplomatic ties with both India and Pakistan, stating:
“We get along with both countries very well, good relationships with both, and I want to see it stop. And if I can do anything to help, I will be there.”

Trump’s remarks come amid rising tensions in the subcontinent following India’s targeted air strikes on terror camps in PoJK, launched in response to last month’s deadly terror attack in Pahalgam.
While Trump refrained from taking sides, his “tit for tat” comment underscores the seriousness of the retaliatory actions taken by both nuclear-armed neighbors in recent days. His offer to intervene diplomatically signals international concern over the growing volatility in the region.
