Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently holding a high-level security meeting at his residence in New Delhi with the top leadership of India’s defence and intelligence establishment. This marks the third such meeting in the past 48 hours, underscoring the seriousness of the ongoing situation after Pakistan’s ceasefire violations.

Watch: Visuals from the meeting show the arrival of key officials at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg, including:

  • Defence Minister Rajnath Singh

  • National Security Advisor Ajit Doval

  • Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan

  • Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi

  • Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi

This crucial meeting follows reports of explosions in Srinagar and Udhampur, drone intrusions, and renewed firing along the LoC, just hours after India and Pakistan had agreed to a full ceasefire beginning at 5:00 PM IST on May 10.

Earlier, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri strongly condemned Pakistan’s violations, saying:

“We urge Pakistan to take urgent steps to stop these violations. We take very, very serious notice of them. The Armed Forces are responding appropriately.”

The Indian Armed Forces remain on maximum operational alert. More updates are expected following the outcome of this security review.
