Faridabad Police Commissioner Satender Kumar has confirmed that the explosive-like substance recovered in the Faridabad raid is not RDX, as initially suspected, but possibly ammonium nitrate, a chemical commonly used in making improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

Speaking to the media, CP Kumar stated, “It is an ongoing joint operation between the Haryana Police and the Jammu & Kashmir Police. One accused, Dr. Muzammil, has been arrested. Around 360 kg of inflammable material, possibly ammonium nitrate, was recovered yesterday. The operation is still underway.”

Officials added that the arrested individual, Dr. Muzammil, was teaching at Al-Falah University in Faridabad, and that further forensic testing is being conducted to determine the exact composition of the recovered material.

Earlier reports had suggested the substance could be RDX, raising nationwide alarm. However, today’s official statement from the police clarifies that no military-grade explosive has been found so far.

The investigation continues jointly between the Haryana Police, J&K Police, and central intelligence agencies, with searches and questioning still in progress.
