In a extraordinary display of patriotism, the Veer Gatha Project 3.0 witnessed an overwhelming participation of over 1.36 crore school students from all 36 States and Union Territories. Launched under the Gallantry Awards Portal (GAP) in 2021, the project aims to celebrate the acts of bravery and sacrifice by the officers and personnel of the Armed Forces. The primary objective is to instill a sense of patriotism and civic consciousness among students.The third edition of Veer Gatha Project, provided a platform for students to express their appreciation through various mediums such as poems, paintings, essays, and videos. The endeavour seeks to propagate the narratives of gallantry awardees, unveiling the  life stories that portray the resilience and valour of the courageous individuals.The best 4 entries from the school were submitted on MyGov portal, from July 28, 2023, to September 30, 2023. The Ministry of Defence, in collaboration with field organizations and the Armed Forces, conducted virtual and in-person awareness programs for schools nationwide to deepen students’ appreciation of the sacrifices of gallantry award recipients.Demonstrating a remarkable success trajectory, the Veer Gatha Project witnessed an increase in participation, with over 1.36 crore students engaging in its third edition, surpassing the previous editions—8 lakh in the first and 19 lakh in the second. The escalating enthusiasm underscores the project’s growing impact among students nationwide.The Veer Gatha Project will continue to evolve, reinforcing its commitment to fostering patriotism and appreciation for the sacrifices made by the gallantry awardees among the younger generation.
