UP Elections 2022: BJP set to form government as it crosses 250 mark

BJP is all set to come back in Uttar Pradesh with an outstanding majority again.

According to the data published on the website of the Election Commission of India, BJP has got the majority in the Uttar Pradesh elections 2022. BJP now went towards the 250 seat milestone.

Bhartiya Janta Party is now leading on 236 seats and its major coalition partner Apna Dal (Sonelal) is leading on 9 seats.

On the other hand, Samajwadi Party is just 1 seat away from the 100 seat mark while his coalition partner Rashtriya Lok Dal lead on 6 seats and Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party lead on 3 seats. Bahujan Samaj Party only got 6 seats and Congress got only 4 seats.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is leading and deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya is leading from their respective constituencies. On the other side, Akhilesh Yadav and Azam Khan are also leading from their constituencies.

However, turn-coat leaders such as Swami Prasad Maurya and Dharmendra Singh Saini is trailing from their constituency.

Apart from Uttar Pradesh, elections are also being held in Manipur, Punjab, Uttarakhand and Goa. Aam Aadmi Party crosses the majority mark in Punjab and went towards a landslide victory while BJP is leading in Uttarakhand and Manipur and in Goa state went towards a hung assembly as no party is going towards the majority.

During the last elections, the BJP coalition got an outstanding majority with 327 seats.
