Yesterday, Dola Sen and Derek O’Brien, TMC MPs, were suspended by the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha during a protest against the Agriculture Bills. Mamata Banerjee, West Bengal Chief Minister, spoke about the incident and said, “The BJP has brutally murdered democracy by brutally silencing opposition leaders.” On September 20, six MPs were also suspended.
“Suspension isn’t a big deal. The entire Opposition is united and we’ll boycott the House session,” Dola Sen said as she continues to fight against Agriculture Bills.
