In a significant breakthrough, the Indian Army confirmed on Thursday that three hardcore terrorists have been eliminated in an ongoing anti-terror operation at Nader, Awantipora in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district. The identity of the slain terrorists is currently being ascertained.

Earlier in the day, an encounter broke out following a joint cordon and search operation launched by the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and CRPF. The action was based on specific intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists in the Tral region.

Initial reports had suggested that three terrorists were neutralized during the early phase of the operation, though official confirmation was awaited at that point. Army has now officially confirmed the neutralization of three terrorists in the ongoing encounter.

Security forces continue to maintain a high alert in the area as combing operations remain underway.
