In his first public address since the India-Pakistan military standoff, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared that the world witnessed the strength of India’s armed forces as they intercepted and destroyed hundreds of Pakistani drones and missiles mid-air during recent hostilities.
“Our armed forces showed what India is capable of. The world saw how Pakistan’s drones and missiles were crushed in the air,” said PM Modi during his address to the nation on Monday night.
He affirmed that India’s response was swift, precise, and powerful, targeting terror camps and infrastructure across the border under Operation Sindoor. He credited the Army, Air Force, and India’s air defence systems for their coordinated and decisive action.
“Pakistan, instead of joining us in fighting terrorism, dared to attack us — and they had to pay the price,” the Prime Minister stated firmly.
PM Modi also recalled the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, which he described as a turning point. “Innocent civilians were murdered in cold blood. India’s patience was tested, but our response was resolute.”
The Prime Minister’s remarks come as India and Pakistan enter a fragile ceasefire understanding, even as New Delhi makes it clear that its fight is only against terror, not peace.
