The Supreme Court has designated seven former High Court judges as Senior Advocates following approval at a Full Court meeting held on May 20, 2026.

According to a notification issued on May 21, the Chief Justice of India along with judges of the Supreme Court approved the designations with effect from May 20.

The seven former High Court judges designated as Senior Advocates are:

Justice Babu K., former judge of the Kerala High Court;

Justice Debabrata Dash, former judge of the Orissa High Court;

Justice Khwairakpam Nobin Singh, former judge of the Manipur High Court;

Justice Mahboob Ali, former judge of the Allahabad High Court;

Justice N. Nagaresh, former judge of the Kerala High Court;

Justice Shrikant Dattatraya Kulkarni, former judge of the Bombay High Court; and

Justice V.G. Arun, former judge of the Kerala High Court.

The designation of Senior Advocate is conferred on advocates and jurists recognised for their standing, experience, and contribution to the legal profession.
