Sonia Gandhi in Lok Sabha today, stated, “This year’s MNGREGA budget allocation is brutal by 35% lesser than the allocation of 2020. This is not acceptable amidst massive employment uncertainty. Supreme Court felt this is forced labor due to significant cuts in the MGNREGA allocations and now workers will face delayed payments.”
This is weakening the legal guarantee of timely payment & jobs. This yr's MGNREGA budget is 35% less than that of 2020 even when unemployment is rising continuously.Due to cuts in the budget payment of workers gets delayed, Supreme Court has called this forced labour: Sonia Gandhi pic.twitter.com/2QykI5E9Sc

In the strict measures, the states were reiterated that unless they met all parameters pertaining to social audit and Lokpal appointment, their annual labor budget allocation will not be honored.
Sonia Gandhi asks, should the hardworking laborers bear the brunt of an ineffective social audit? although she is one for an effective social audit in place. So why delay the payment of the workers until an effective social audit is in place.
