DK Shivakumar, the president of the Karnataka Congress, commented on Sonia Gandhi’s attendance and expressed pride that his party is taking power in the state.

In honour of Vijayadashami celebrations, Sonia Gandhi visited HD Kote near Mysuru’s Bheemana Kolli Temple on Wednesday and offered prayers.

“Vijayadashami, there will be Vijaya in Karnataka. We are proud that Sonia Gandhi has come to walk on the streets of Karnataka. We are coming to power in the state, and BJP is on the way to closing its shop,” he said.

The pilgrimage, which began on September 7 in Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu, will travel 511 kilometres through Karnataka over the course of 21 days.

On September 30, the yatra arrived in Karnataka at Gundlupet after leaving Gudalur in Tamil Nadu. Kerala had also been included in its path.

Before entering Telangana, the yatris will travel 25 kilometres per day for 21 days.

The yara’s goals are to combat the “divisive” politics of the BJP-led governments in power at the federal and state levels as well as to educate the public about the risks of “economic inequality,” “social polarisation,” and “political centralization.”

The yatris are sleeping in containers, some of which have air conditioning units.
