Tragedy struck in Madhya Pradesh’s Harda as a fire broke out inside a firecracker factory, claiming the lives of six people and injuring 60 others. The flames ignited multiple explosions, causing panic in the surrounding areas.
According to officials, some of the injured are in critical condition and have been rushed to hospitals for treatment. The intensity of the blasts was so severe that residents in the nearby Seoni Malwa area reported experiencing tremors.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has intervened, speaking to officials to gather details about the incident. Videos of the blaze depict towering flames and billowing smoke engulfing the factory premises, while terrified bystanders flee the scene.
Firefighters have arrived at the site and are working to contain the inferno. “The rescue operation is ongoing. We have also summoned the National Disaster Response Force,” stated District Collector Rishi Garg.
A survivor, recounting the ordeal, revealed that approximately 150 workers were present on the premises when the fire erupted, highlighting the scale of the tragedy.
