After receiving the news of an explosion behind the Israeli Embassy, Delhi Police has started investigating the matter. Officials said that Delhi Police received information about the explosion near the Embassy located in New Delhi district on Tuesday (26 December) evening.
Police sources say that a letter addressed to the Israeli Ambassador has been found near the ‘blast’ site behind the Israeli Embassy complex.
The Israeli Embassy in New Delhi said that we can confirm that there was an explosion near the embassy around 5:10 pm. Delhi Police and security teams are still investigating the situation.
According to Delhi Fire Service officials, the call came at 5.47 pm and was transferred from PCR (Police Control Room) of Delhi Police. He said that police and fire department officials are on the spot and the search operation is going on. At present, a team of the Crime Unit of Delhi Police and the forensic team are investigating near the Israeli Embassy.

‘No explosives recovered’
Delhi Fire Services Director Atul Garg said, “Nothing has been found at the spot so far.” Along with this, Delhi Police also said that no explosives have been found yet, but the search operation is going on.
Story of the incident in the words of an eyewitness Teju Chhetri, a guard posted at the Central Hindi Training Institute near the Israeli Embassy, said that — “It was around five in the evening. We’re on duty inside the gate. A sound came, it seemed as if a tire had burst. Looked here and there for a while. There was nothing inside. Then we looked outside and saw smoke rising near the tree. The sound was very loud. Police have taken statements.”
