Following the car blast near Red Fort on Monday evening (November 10) that left nine people dead and over 20 injured, authorities have decided to close public entry to the Red Fort complex for three days — from November 11 to November 13, 2025.
A letter issued by the Station House Officer (SHO), Kotwali Police Station, to the Superintending Archaeologist of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), Delhi Circle, confirmed the temporary closure, citing ongoing investigation and forensic examination at the crime scene.
The official communication stated, “In view of the bomb-blast incident in a car at Netaji Subash Marg near Red Fort Chowk, Delhi on 10/11/2025, the investigation of the scene of crime in the incident is in progress but yet to be completed. Hence, it is requested that the Red Fort may please be closed for visitors for 3 days w.e.f 11/11/2025 to 13/11/2025.”
The closure comes as teams from Delhi Police, NIA, NSG, and forensic experts continue to collect evidence and analyze materials recovered from the blast site.
Authorities have also increased security across Delhi-NCR, with special focus on tourist landmarks, metro stations, and crowded markets. Visitors are advised to avoid the area until further notice.
