A suspicious tanker has been seized in Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra. The Mumbai Police had received information through a phone call about the taking of RDX to Goa through a tanker. The police have detained the driver of the tanker. The caller, who identified himself as Pandey, informed the police that a truck carrying RDX was in route from Mumbai to Goa.
According to the caller, the white-coloured tanker loaded with RDX also had two Pakistani nationals on board. Acting swiftly, the police initiated the tracking of the truck while simultaneously launching a search for the caller. The urgency of the situation prompted the Mumbai Police to alert the Maharashtra ATS and the Goa Police Control Room immediately.
The tanker has been caught full of chemicals. Police say that a team of experts has been called to investigate the tanker. Whether explosive RDX is kept in the tanker or not, it will be investigated. But, contrary to the caller’s claims, the tanker was not travelling from Mumbai to Goa but was actually on its way from Gujarat to Goa. The arrested individual claimed that the chemical substances were meant for the production of polythene. At present, the investigation of the case is still going on and the nature of the chemicals found in the tanker is being examined.
